About

JOANNA CURRY-SARTORI Therapist, Educator, Author and Consultant

Whether I am working with individuals or groups, in personal or professional settings, my purpose is the same: to create nurturing spaces where people can learn, heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and one another. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist. For more than twenty-five years, I have supported individuals, families, educators, leaders, and communities in navigating life's challenges with greater clarity, compassion, and courage. My work is rooted in the transformative wisdom of Internal Family Systems and expanded through PAUSE for Self-Leadership™, an IFS-inspired model I developed to help people apply Self-Leadership in everyday life. PAUSE is a practical process that helps us recognize our patterns, connect with each other and access our innate capacity to lead through both ordinary and difficult moments. The principles of PAUSE are shared in my book, The Self-Led Educator, published by PESI, and guide my work with individuals and organizations around the world. Whether we work together individually or in a group, my goal is not simply to help you feel better in the moment, but to empower you with the understanding, skills, and practices to sustain meaningful change over time. I also show up not only as a therapist and guide, but as a fellow human being on the journey. My work is informed by a lifelong commitment to personal growth through mindfulness, yoga, reflective practice, and continuous learning. I have extensive experience as a facilitator, speaker, and organizational leader, and I understand firsthand the joys and demands of balancing professional responsibilities, relationships, parenting, and personal well-being. As the mother of a teenage son, I continue to learn every day about presence, patience, and growth. It would be an honor to accompany you on your journey as a therapist, facilitator, consultant, or celebrant. Together, we can explore what is possible. Therapist My clients are often the people who spend their days supporting, guiding, teaching, leading, and caring for others—business leaders, school administrators, educators, coaches, counselors, helping professionals, and parents. They are seeking a space where they can finally turn their attention inward and receive the same care and support they so generously offer others. As a therapist, I help you understand and release the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, heal old wounds, and reconnect with the strengths and qualities that are already within you. Through Internal Family Systems and Self-Leadership practices, you will develop a deeper relationship with yourself and greater confidence in how you navigate your relationships, work, and life. Together, we cultivate the capacity to be more Self-Led—calm, compassionate, courageous, clear, connected, and confident—even amidst uncertainty and challenge. You will also learn PAUSE for Self-Leadership™, a practical framework you can use daily to care for yourself, connect more effectively with others, and intentionally lead your life. Trainer and Consultant As Founder and President of the Self-Leadership Collaborative, I lead a global team dedicated to helping individuals, organizations, and schools integrate Self-Leadership as a way of being. Through workshops, consulting, keynote presentations, and professional learning experiences, we teach PAUSE for Self-Leadership™ as a practical framework for well-being, communication, collaboration, and leadership. Our work supports people in moving beyond reactivity and stress toward greater connection, resilience, and collective capacity. If you are interested in bringing PAUSE for Self-Leadership to your organization, school, or community, I invite you to learn more through the Self-Leadership Collaborative. My team and I would be delighted to explore how we can support your goals. Visit our website: www.selfleadershipcollaborative.com
